Geography
In the North Ukraine borders with Belarus. In the West - with Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. In the Southwest - with Moldova and Romania, and in the East and North - with Russia. With Romania and Russia Ukraine has a spare line not only by overland, but also by sea. It is also contiguous by sea with Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia.
Ukraine is washed by two seas – the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. There are large seaports in seven cities of the country (at the Black sea - in Odessa, Illichevsk, Kherson, and Sevastopol, at the Sea of Azov - in Mariupol, Berdyansk and Kerch).
The length of the Black Sea coast is more than a thousand kilometers. Its sandy and pebble beaches, gulfs and estuaries with a curative mud - are ready to a meeting with you (Saksk salt lake, Sivash lake). There you can visit the largest desert island in Europe (Dzharylgach Island). At the Black Sea you can enjoy the underwater landscapes of caves and grottoes, investigate sunken ships, and Ancient Greek amphoras, see walls of ancient Chersonese and Atlantis.
Ukraine – is rich soil fields (more than 60 % of territory - black earth), boundless steppes, and the most beautiful woods. Being in Kherson Region you can take a walk in the largest coniferous forest plantations in the world, and then arrange an extreme-party in the only desert of Europe.
There are mountains in the south and in the west of the country. The Crimea is waiting for you with picturesque landscapes, sanctuaries of nature and culture, a warm subtropical climate, and sea shore. Carpathians have prepared for you rest all-the-year-round: medical treatment and health improvement, walks and horse ridings, downhill skiing, fishing, and hunting. Also there you can get unusually fresh impressions from rural tourism, where you can rest from the concrete metropolitan world in a kingdom of a fresh air, the most beautiful nature and unhurried rhythm of a life of hospitable local people.
Ukraine has a lot of lakes (Yalpug and Svitiaz Lakes are the biggest ones) and rivers (the Dnieper is the longest river inUkraine and the third-largest river in Europe). Picturesque creeks and forests are waiting for you to present unforgettable pleasure from hunting and fishing, sailing and just from travelling by numerous channels, innumerable lakes with fantastic islands. You can find here places, untouched by human hands.
