Welcome to an international festival-trademark of "Polesia Summer with Folklore", a grand event that gathers more than 5 000 participants from 40 countries worldwide. The festival is held under auspices of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts CIOFF, functioned at UNESCO, where Ukraine became a member due to the festival. “Polesia summer” will show you inexhaustible potential of folklore! From the first chords of the festival you can feel the atmosphere of good neighborliness and intimacy of peoples. An ancient Lutsk castle, decorated with flags of states, whose envoys arrived at the festival, welcomes with Volyn bells and fills with tunes from different countries.
To help you to feel the spirit of the Old City Lutsk invites you at a historical festival “The Sword of Lutsk Castle extravaganza” and a romantic ethno-folk festival - an art show “Night at Lutsk castle”. You can find yourself in the night castle filled with a special mysterious spirit of antiquity: the ladies dressed in elegant dresses, light in towers, ancient music, knights, pig roasted on a spit, tables with a lamp. All this revived a medieval town with its owners, residents and masters in Lutsk fortress. All night long you can enjoy Kupala games and entertainment, medieval entertainment, theatrical tours; taste drinks and dishes cooked on old recipes, watch movies by Ukrainian directors, attend master-classes from folk craftsmen.
At celebration of Day of the city Lutsk invites you to visit a ball of flowers "Lutsk in blossom" where the contest gives a chance to the best local “flower artists” to compete for the best composition title.

At the festival you will learn that it is Volyn that is considered to be a birthplace of Christmas theatre-crib: theatrical action spread throughout the Orthodox world from this very city. You will see bright, childish, naïve and sincere actions gathering puppeteers around the world who perform a story of Jesus' birth and accompanied events.
