Welcome to Dubno (Rivne region), the most ancient city of Ukraine occurred so many years ago that none can establish its age.

Walls of the city will tell about life of prince de Conde, a heir to the French throne, and Honore de Balzac who derived here some inspiration for his work. The city streets will tell you about light step of a prominent Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz and an inimitable smile of Czech writer-satirist Jaroslav Hasek.
Here you will see a famous and impregnable Dubno castle. Being protected by a stormy river with marshland and strong fortification facilities the fortress managed to remain unconquered. You will know that during hundreds of years the castle honorably withstood storm of Tatars, long sieges of Cossacks and Russian troops. Its uniqueness attracted prominent statesmen and military leaders such as Sweden king Charles XII, French general Charles de Gaulle, Russian tsar Peter I, commanders Kutuzov and Suvorov.

Walking here you will learn that great noble families – Ostrotzky, Zaslavsky and Lubomyrsky – used the fortress for keeping their treasures and priceless family archives. You can visit a castle workshop that produced religious exhibits for churches, and different ammunition; labyrinths of underground passages that united the castle with other facilities.
This was very castle where events described by Nickolai Gogol in “Taras Bulba” narrative took place (You can witness annual rock-festival of the same name).

In the end of XX century the Dubno State Historical and Cultural reserve was created. It gathered 29 local sightseeing that brightly illustrate heroic stories of the land.
Here you will see Dubno castle, ancient Lutsk arch, monastery and kostel of the Bernadine, synagogue, Transfiguration church, kostel and monastery of Carmelites and a wooden church of St.George.
