 Founded on the crossroad of many trade routes the city has been a trade capital of Ukraine. You can visit the biggest wholesale market that joined entrepreneurs from all cities of the state.

You are going to meet the oldest stone building of the city. The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin church, its interesting exhibits of numerous museums, the Philharmonic Society and the Museum of the Regional Studies, a unique Mono Theatre "Kut", a huge forest park and dendropark where you can find hundreds species of plants are waiting for you!

Khmelnytskyi will surprise you with unusual monuments. Here you will see a war memorial performed in a shape of hand moving a chess piece-soldier on the chess board as
 a pawn. The memorial says: “Rulers mistake but nations suffer”.

You can also see a monument made of fragments of an intercontinental ballistic missile SS-19; the “Angel of Sorrow” - monument immortalizing victims of repressions; and the only one in Ukraine monument to a prominent Baron Munchausen.

During the whole period of its existence Khmelnytskyi has experienced numerous fires and destructions. However, it rose from the ashes.


It is said that heroic spirit of B.Khmelnytskyi helped it to survive.

Local citizens believe that his monument recreates and helps to achieve life goals (the only one thing that people have to remember is that the commander sharply feels man’s inward: if the help is asked by a good-looking but the poor in spirit man the commander will not help him. Moreover, he will make man’s future life harder).
