Studs of Luhanshchyna

Welcome to Belovodsk, one of the ancient cities of Ukraine (Luhansk region), that will acquaint you with its main sightseeing – Trinity Cathedral temple – one of the best Ukrainian monuments of the architecture of XIX century. You will see a five-tier iconostas, the majority icons of which are made by a famous icon painter Andrey Rublev. Visiting the temple you have a chance to touch holy relics of Saint Serghiy lied in a silver frame.
You will make an acquaintance of the land where in XVIII century the first in the south of Russia stud was built. Today, this is the only region in Ukraine where three state studs are located, and where horse breeding is a leading branch of agriculture. You can visit a famous Derkulsky stud that produces stud-mares. You will see a unique “Japanese riding house” with a massive post that holds the whole construction. There is not anything like it in the world. You can find yourself in the main trainer stable characterized by unusual acoustics and massive complex of its buildings. A high arch ceiling and one and a half meters’ walls provide warmth in winter and coolness in summer. Despite its age (more that hundred years) the stable is still in a good condition without any repair.
You will hear an interesting story when in World War II German pilots denied to bomb the stud because its view from above resembled initials of the Russian empress Catherine II who had a German origin!
