Korosten

Welcome to Korosten (Zhytomyr region), a small city with numerous sightseeing of the world level.

Enjoy marvelous views of the Uzh river. The city stands on the river at height of the biggest in Europe pendant bridge with one pier. Visit a city park situated along the banks of a beautiful canyon. Picturesque landscape of the canyon offers you a vast variety of rest: calm bathing, active rafting, rock climbing and diving from height. Here you can see underground city with tens of storeys, autonomous water supply, complex ventilation system, a few exists. This object was kept in secret for a long period of time and even now you can visit its ground floor only.

Near the park you will find a monument to the Mother of God (chosen as a patroness of the city) and church to princess Olga (one of the founders of Christianity in Rus, and the one who burnt Korosten and after repentance she built one of the first churches on the Drevlyane land).

If you want to know more about Drevlyane, then you should visit the Krasnaya Gorka (Red Hill), a place of their large city.
This is a territory where remains of settlements and unique jewelry were found. You can enjoy them by visiting local history museum displaying thousands of interesting exhibits.

 Staying here do not deprive you a chance to drop in ethnographic museum where you can find reconstructed ancient house with attributes inherent to XVIII century. Here you will feel like a “time machine” moved you a century back. You should also visit Technical museum that is regularly visited by 
lovers of technology history from all over Europe. You can travel by locomotive that can bring you not only to Zhytomyr but also to Kiev!
