Let’s visit the museum-estate of the prominent scientist, the founder of the topographicanatomy, operative, plastic and field surgery – Nikolay Pirogov (Vinnytsya Region). 

You are invited to the homestead of the prominent educator and successful practicing surgeon, who’s inventions saved thousands of lives. Pirogov advertized organ-saving surgery, created the theory of immunity and gerontology, introduced the using of narcosis under military field conditions and developed the mask for ether anesthesia, which is still being used in practical surgery. Pirogov founded scientific and research institutes, developing the methods to fight infectious diseases.
 You could visit his estate, where he wrote his scientific works, opened free hospital andpharmacy. After his death his body was embalmed after the technology, which he created – You can see him in church mausoleum (there are three unique embalmed bodies in the world, kept for a long time – the bodies of Pirogov, Lenin and Mao Tse Tung). 
The Museum-Estate will show You the interior of reception and operating room of Pirogov, the unique anatomical atlas, in the pharmacy office Youcould take a look at waxwork figures, recreating the pictures of his life. There is a very beautiful park around the house, with a lot of rare plants and trees, planted by Pirogov himself.
